At the Finger Lakes Vacation Rental Alliance (FLXVRA), we believe in the power of community. We understand that short-term rentals play an essential role in our region's economy, and we also know the importance of preserving the unique character of the Finger Lakes. That's why we're excited to introduce the "Humans in Hospitality" Campaign.

What is Humans in Hospitality?

"Humans in Hospitality" is more than just a campaign; it's a movement. It's about bringing residents, vacation rental hosts, local government and local businesses together to create a thriving, inclusive, and respectful community.

It's about finding common ground and working together to make the Finger Lakes an even

better place to live, work, and visit.

  • Foster Dialogue: We're all in this together; the first step is talking to each other. We aim to create open and constructive dialogues, allowing us to address concerns and find solutions that benefit everyone.

 

  • Responsible Hosting: We provide resources and guidelines for vacation rental hosts to encourage responsible hosting practices. Our goal is to ensure that guests respect our neighborhoods and communities.

 

  • Data-Driven Policy: We're committed to advocating for well-informed, fair, and balanced regulations. We use data from surveys and community feedback to ensure that we protect the interests of residents and the vitality of our local economy.

 

  • Community Building: We work to strengthen the sense of community by promoting positive interactions between visitors and residents, enhancing neighborhood bonds, and preserving the unique character of the Finger Lakes.

 

  • Transparency: We promise to be open and transparent. We'll share our progress, survey results, and policy recommendations with the community, media, and local authorities.
